Organic Tava Tea Researches - The Ingredients of Green Sencha Health Benefits -Osteroporosis

Written by Chanel M. contributed by Kyle J. Norton, All right reserve

Sencha
is a type of decoct Japanese green tea, most popular tea in Japan, made from the dried tea leaves without grinding the tea leaves. It volatile compounds could be used as markers for the overall quality evaluation of all green teas, according to the study of "Predication of Japanese green tea (Sen-cha) ranking by volatile profiling using gas chromatography mass spectrometry and multivariate analysis" by Jumtee K, Komura H, Bamba T, Fukusaki E.[1],

Health Benefits of Green Sencha

8. Osteoporosis
a. In the examination of Osteoporosis and the effects of green tea of the study of "Green tea and bone metabolism' by Shen CL, Yeh JK, Cao JJ, Wang JS.[8a], researchers found that , tea and its bioactive components might decrease the risk of fracture by improving bone mineral density and supporting osteoblastic activities while suppressing osteoclastic activities.

b. In investigation of Epidemiological evidence that has shown an association between tea consumption and the prevention of bone loss of the study of "Green tea and bone health: Evidence from laboratory studies" by Shen CL, Yeh JK, Cao JJ, Chyu MC, Wang JS.[8b], researchers found that there is a possible mechanisms for the osteo-protective effects of green tea bioactive compounds

c. In the investigation of green tea polyphenols (GTPs) attenuate bone loss of the study of "Supplementation with green tea polyphenols improves bone microstructure and quality in aged, orchidectomized rats" by Shen CL, Cao JJ, Dagda RY, Tenner TE Jr, Chyu MC, Yeh JK.[8c], researchers found that GTP supplementation resulted in increased serum osteocalcin concentrations, bone mineral density, and trabecular volume, number, and strength of femur; increased trabecular volume and thickness and bone formation in both the proximal tibia and periosteal tibial shaft; decreased eroded surface in the proximal tibia and endocortical tibial shaft; and increased liver glutathione peroxidase activity. We conclude that GTP supplementation attenuates trabecular and cortical bone loss through increasing bone formation while suppressing bone resorption due to its antioxidant capacity.

d. In the evaluation of green tea polyphenols (GTP) as promising agents for preventing bone loss in women of the study of "Protective effect of green tea polyphenols on bone loss in middle-aged female rats' by Shen CL, Wang P, Guerrieri J, Yeh JK, Wang JS.[8d], researchers suggested that a bone-protective role of GTP may contribute to an increase of antioxidant capacity and/or a decrease of oxidative stress damage.
